In Touch – June

9th June 2022

It really has been an extra special week of celebrations at Whiteley Village for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and in this month’s In Touch we’ve showcased some of the wonderful events in the Village – including the huge garden party organised by residents and an Afternoon Tea fundraiser, organised by our Finance Team. We’ve also been marking National Volunteers’ Week (1-7 June) as like all charities, many of our services rely on their support and in this newsletter we’ve highlighted the fantastic efforts of employees from local marketing agency Cremarc who helped us refurbish the entrance to our Village Shop recently. Covid meant we could not have any corporate volunteers for almost two years, so we were delighted to welcome them back into our community again and even more pleased that the hard working Cremarc team chose to support us – thanks guys! We are always grateful for donations of any kind, and sometimes relatives of residents who have passed away generously contribute to the work of our charity in their loved one’s memory. This month we spotlight a donation from one such family which enabled us to purchase a wheelchair accessible planter. It’s now not only a beautiful and lasting memorial to their mum but will also help support less mobile residents now and in the future by allowing them to enjoy gardening once again. There are lots of ways you can support the work of our charity and you can find out more here or just call us on the number below.
