In Touch: May

17th May 2021

In May’s edition of In Touch we feature some of the activities from our recent Community Wellbeing event, which was part of the Trust’s celebration of Mental Health Awareness Week 2021. Spirits refused to be dampened by the disappointing weather, and residents still enjoyed over 20 different activities organised by fellow villagers and staff to help encourage people back out into the Village and socialising safely again.

Rachel Hill, CEO said: “We’re very aware of the long-term impact of isolation on residents’ mental health so we’re trying to provide activities across a spectrum of tastes and needs. We know that whereas some residents are raring to go out, others are much more anxious. So as lockdown restrictions ease, our Housing & Support and Community Services teams will be working to support those who need it.”

We also feature our recent celebrations for International Nurses Day. This event is always an important  one at Whiteley, but after such an incredibly tough year for everyone, managers were keen to make it extra special this year and a lovely afternoon tea was held for our care and nursing staff to say a huge thank you for all their commitment and dedication to our residents and our charity.
