Named after the very first resident to move into Whiteley Village in 1917, the Eliza Palmer Care Home opened its doors in June 2019. Set within the stunning grounds of our thriving village community, the Hub provides award-winning* personalised nursing care to villagers and self-funding residents.
The Eliza Palmer Care Home has 30 spacious care suites located over two floors. Each one features a stunning bay window providing excellent views of the Village for residents to enjoy.
Care suites lead out to a light and airy open plan living, dining and kitchen area with floor to ceiling windows and patio doors overlooking our fully accessible, pretty courtyard garden.
Community is central to our ethos at Whiteley, and so everyone who lives here is not just a resident but a villager. The design of the care home and its location at the heart of our Village is intended to encourage and enable every resident to participate as fully as they wish to, and are able to, in community life.
The stunning Lantern Café on the ground floor is a perfect spot to socialise with family and friends.
The Eliza Palmer Care Home was rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission at its most recent inspection in 2022, and also received the Platinum Award for the Gold Standards Framework for End of Life Care.
Fees: All residents receive an assessment of care to identify their needs and dependency level, and our fees are based on the results of this assessment and the desired room.
* Winners of the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Platinum Award 2023 and joint finalists in the GSF Care Home of the Year Awards 2019.
Care and Wellbeing
- Our passion is to offer residents person-centred care from our highly skilled nursing and care team in a homely environment. We seek to enable residents to live fulfilling lives by providing care that enhances independence and choice, and respects dignity and privacy.
- We offer a range of activities tailored to your individual needs, overseen by our Activities Coordinator. When you move into the Eliza Palmer Care Home, we will want to know all about you, your hobbies and interests, so we can support you to continue them.
- Your wellbeing is our main concern and so our care team will seek to build a close relationship with you and your loved ones. Family and friends can visit at any time and we encourage their involvement in formulating individual care plans and activity programmes.
- We also have a Chaplain and a dedicated team of volunteer befrienders – many of whom are Whiteley villagers too – who work with us to help ensure you will always feel a valued member of our community.
